Cold air return for Norseman 2500 solid fuel furnaces

THIS UNIT IS USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH NORSEMAN™ FURNACE MODEL 2500. FOLLOW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH THE FURNACE.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Refer to diagram and parts list.

  1. The Cold Air Return consists of six (6) pieces and hardware necessary for assembly (see figure 1).

NOTE: You will need to purchase a 16 x 20 x 1 air filter for final operation (not included in this kit).

  1. Assemble sides to the bottom (see figure 2a).

  2. Remove the four (4) screws on the lower rear sides of the furnace housing alongside the blower motor(s).

  3. Align the Side / Bottom subassembly with the holes in the furnace housing and attach with the screws removed in step 3 above.

  4. Align the Top of the cold air return to the Side / Bottom subassembly routing the conduit cables through the notches (see figure 2b). Secure to the side panels with the screws provided. NOTE: If conduit slots don't align, you may have to custom notch the top to accommodate your conduit arrangement.

  5. Align the front panel and secure with screws provided.

  6. Install the filter (not included). The CR-25 Cold Air Return uses a 16" x 20" x 1" replaceable furnace filter which may be obtained locally. NOTE: Check filter at least annually. Replace as necessary.

  7. Attach the filter cover with three of the screws provided with kit (see figure 2c).

This Vogelzang heating appliance is safe when installed properly and will provide you with years of service. However, always exercise good judgment when you are using this furnace. You are dealing with FIRE! Fire is inherently dangerous and must be treated with respect. Stay warm and in good health!
